Me.
I'm a writer, editor and content consultant living in New York City. I'm also a licensed NYC tour guide, because I'm a nerd for this town.
I'm the executive editor of AFAR, a travel magazine, website where you’ll also find podcasts, videos, and a lot of inspiration and intel.
Before that I was a senior editor at BBC Travel, where I edited longform, reported stories about the intersection of travel and culture.
I was also the editorial and digital strategy director at WendyPerrin.com—home of consumer-travel advocate and travel-planning expert Wendy Perrin—where I oversaw content creation, social media, audience growth, and our small team of writers. On top of all that, I travel and write regularly for various publications.
Prior to those adventures, I launched and was the founding editor of CondeNastTraveler.com.
I also launched and edited Time Out Singapore (and trained a local staff to take over when I left); served as deputy editor of Time Out New York; managed Yahoo Travel's international blogger network; and served as a columnist and blogger for The New York Times.
My articles have been published in: AFAR, WendyPerrin.com, Condé Nast Traveler, BBC Travel, Travel + Leisure, Men’s Journal, Yahoo! Travel, Details.com, The New York Times, Every Day With Rachael Ray, Travelchannel.com, The New York Post, The New York Daily News, National Geographic, The London Times, and more.
I am based in New York, though I'm often on the road traveling the world (that’s me in Mongolia). I pack light, talk to everyone, and am always looking for interesting history, architecture, design, people, food, and dessert and candy, and always Oreos, all over the world. Not necessarily in that order.
